----Malt og Appelsin----Karen Emilía Barrysdóttir Woodrow

We had a fantastic day! We woke up pretty early and then we were off!
Today we drove to the eastcoast of the island. The beach we went to is close to the village Paje. We stopped at a resort, had some lunch and then enjoyed the white sand and the sea!

After the drive back ( by the way, was the first time i drove in africa - Scary shit!!!), we arrived thirsty and tired at the hotel. Mum had brought me some Malt and Appelsin wich i stashed in the fridge - and now, all though a month to late - I had a litle taste of christmas!:)

Well, that's it for the day.

Hugs, love, kisses

I dar med mommu!!!Karen Emilía Barrysdóttir Woodrow

Wihhh, mum has arrived and it is so fun to see someone and spend time with a person that knows you more than some small talk!
Well yesterday I went to pick her up at the ariport. We got to the hotel we are staying at, wich is clean and nice - Econolodge, defenatly would recomend it. Much nice than the YMCA but nearly the same price!
We had a walk around town, it was a sunday, so everything was quiet, but that was nice for mum to get the feel for Dar again.
We came back for a nap in the afternoon, we went to the Movernpick hotel in te evening for a drink and then home to sleep....we were both very tired!!

To day a hunt for turist places and what to do in Dar.
We are trying to find a safari for Mikumi NP. Ww went to a cultural center today, saw alot of different kind of tripal houses, and than I danced with Masai people...hahaha!
Now we are heading out for dinner at the Kilimanjaro Hotel.

Love,
Karen

Dar here I come, again! (Icelandic candy on sunday, yeayh!!!)Karen Emilía Barrysdóttir Woodrow

Well me and my mum have desided to meet in Dar es Salaam. Wich I am very happy about -  I am looking forward to Zanzibar again, it is so fab there:)
So she is arriving on Sunnday, I will pobably leave Mzuzu on Friday, I will be sad to leave this place - but the trip must go on!

Well we left Mzuzu, for a few days to see the beautiful Nyika.
Seven f us drove up to the Mushroom farm, stayed the night there - the next morning we packed up the tents and off we went! This was a group of people from all over the place, but all of them I had met once ore twice before!
Ok, it is rainy season in Malawi and the roads were SOOOO bad!
Long long drive, on the way the car started making a strange noise....but we finally got there.
Next day, we went n a drive! It is like driving in england (not the roads of course) - rolling hills, so green an rabbits all over the place!
An then it started again, the car started acting up and then all of a sudden going up a hill - brummmmmfummmcrash!!! Stoped 12 km frm the camp!
We tried all we could to get it going, but no.....didn't work!
So half of the group hiked back.....it was getting dark when a tractor finally came for us.
We arrived so late that the chalet atendant was gone home, so we had to brake into the chalet - real criminals:)
We got a mecanic to come in the morning, he didn't know much. Got it going and said it would get us to Rumphi (120 km away).
About 10 km away from the park gait the car crahsed again!!!! (70 km from Rumphi)
Four of us were going to Mzuzu and were going to start hiking, when a car comes driving ( a road that not alot of cars drive on).
So we got a ride, and managed to find a mecanic for the car, but he didn't arrive untill the day after. So the three people remaning had to sleep in the car and eat raw noodles!

But all went well, and a couple of days they came back to the Zoo, so there was a big reunion!!! the same njight a group f 25 drunk Irish people came, so you can imagine the state of me the day after - hehehe;)

Well, of early in the morning tomorrow!
Love, Hugs and kisses,
Karen

ChangesKaren Emilía Barrysdóttir Woodrow

My plans just keep on changing.
Well, to begin with, my mom was supposed to meet me in Kenya. But now with the current situation there, that is not going to work out. So now we have to deside Uganda or Tanzania. Both places I really like, but now Uganda is suffering from the situation in Kenya. If things calm down, Uganda should be fine. Just emailed some friends there to see if it is affecting them alot.
But then Tanzania and Zanzibar are good aswell....

Well, we will see.
Jus spent a few days down by the lake, very very nice.....some swimming, snorkling and relaxing with a book in the sun:)

Og fyrir ykkur heima, vidtalid var a midvikudaginn, ekki sunnudaginn....min mistok. En tad er haegt ad hlusta a tad a ruv.is.

Knus og kossar,
Karen
